Water shortage!

Water Shortage!

Yep, that’s right – water shortage declared by our Water Works Company.
Remember how they declared they’d have to turn on the desalination plant last November? Shortly before it rained forever?  Don’t they know rainfall averages out over time – or is there another agenda lurking here?
Weren’t they aware we had TWO INCHES of rain last weekend? Apparently not.
Must have been taking delivery of that new batch ……
Now the JEP reports that our water company (Jersey New Waterworks Company as was) wish to raise the dam at Val de La Mare and introduce meters to all properties because “water supply will decrease by 11% over the next 25yrs”

Seriously? They’ve been in the pub too long – or on that new batch again.
One minute we’re told Global Warming is about (more warmth = more evaporation = more rain) but now they’re telling us, without a shred of evidence or pseudo-science, that water supplies will decline. And it’s not even April 1st yet.
I’ll put it politely – they’re mad.
Oh, and have they forgotten Val de La Mare dam has problems? Concrete degradation & sits on a dodgy base. And they want to substantially increase its loading. Glad I don’t live near there.
